Position Type: 
This is a contract position managed through Deel and open to candidates outside the US only (Philippines preferred).

Position Summary/Objective:

The Software Engineer will collaborate with product, design, and the DevOps/IT team to design, build, and support AVB Marketing’s e-commerce, product information, and marketing technology platforms (LINQ and related systems) on AWS. This is an AI-assisted development role: the engineer is expected to use GitHub Copilot and development IDE's daily to accelerate delivery in a codebase that may span .NET, Node.js, React, and Python.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• End-to-end development: design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain web applications, APIs, and background services.

• Use AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot or Claude Code, in VS Code or as a standalone agent) daily for design, implementation, testing, refactoring, and documentation; review and test all AI-generated code and remain accountable for everything committed.

• Build and maintain integrations with third-party systems, including REST APIs, POS and manufacturer data feeds, and e-commerce platforms such as Magento.

• Work closely with the DevOps/IT team on deployment procedures and support rollouts of your work.

• Troubleshoot production issues using logs and monitoring tools (Splunk, CloudWatch) and implement fixes.

• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code and participate in code reviews through GitHub pull requests.

• Work independently on features of moderate scope and escalate blockers early. 

• Communicate status clearly and participate actively in Agile ceremonies and project discussions.

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Proficiency in .NET Core / C# development on AWS, with working proficiency in at least one of Node.js, React, or Python.

• Demonstrated proficiency in AI code-assisted development using GitHub Copilot (VS Code integration or standalone/agentic application), including prompt-driven code generation, agent-driven multi-file changes, and AI-assisted debugging and test generation.

• Hands-on experience with core AWS services (Lambda, S3, RDS, CloudWatch).

• Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.

• Proficiency with Git and GitHub, including pull requests and code review.

• Clear written and verbal communication in English and the ability to collaborate effectively with a U.S.-based team.

• Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Computer Science or a related field) or equivalent experience.

• 1 to 2 years or more of hands-on experience developing .NET applications on AWS, plus hands-on experience with at least one of Node.js, React, or Python.

• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment using Jira and Confluence.

• Experience with API Gateway, SQS/SNS, and serverless or microservices architectures is a plus.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and applying AWS security best practices (IAM, secrets management) is a plus.

• Advanced T-SQL experience (stored procedures, query performance tuning) is a plus.

• Experience with web scraping frameworks or services (Puppeteer, Playwright, Selenium, Bright Data) is a plus.

• Experience integrating with Point-of-Sale (POS), ERP, and/or e-commerce platforms is a plus.

• Relevant AWS certifications are a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Remote Work/Travel:

• This position works remotely and is subject to AVB’s Remote Work policies and procedures in effect at the time. Working hours are during U.S. time zone business hours (non-negotiable), with the specific schedule set at the supervisor’s discretion, regardless of the engineer’s physical location.
