Position Summary/Objective:

The Vendor Relations Manager will work across all functional areas to grow and improve their vendor partnership with our clients’ websites and catalog in the furniture and bedding space. They will manage the vendor relationship – oversee product selection and life cycle, manage day-to-day relationships, and negotiate and secure marketing funds. They work directly with our vendors and clients to add to manage and maintain their retail catalog.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  •  Works with both clients and vendors to maintain a best-in-class website catalog solution with all the necessary information and content
  • Manages, maintains, and develops vendor marketing relationships
  • Manages the process of obtaining and updating web assets, product images, pricing for assigned vendors
  • Assists merchandising team in developing and executing promotional campaigns, marketing initiatives and programs
  • Managing and maintaining catalog/website information for assigned vendors
  • Merchandise packages and room group development on AVB website

Education and Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience working in the furniture/electronics retail industry
  • Strong working knowledge of retail, furniture or bedding retail preferred
  • Superior communication skills – ability to develop and maintain relationships
  • Strong experience with Excel and other tools to analyze data to support business decisions
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results
  • Experience building category plans and bridging variance +/- vs. plan

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged period of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

 

Remote Work/Travel:  This position will work remotely from a home address and subject to AVB’s Remote Work policies and procedures which are then in effect.  In addition, from time to time, this position will be required to engage in travel, including travel to attend AVB’s Annual All-Employee Meeting as well as other travel obligations which may be required of the position such as meetings with members, attendance at conventions and shows and other events where you will represent AVB.  (Any requests for accommodations to required travel (including medical) should be addressed with Human Resources.
