Event Technical Lead- Audio Visual

Position requires the employee to currently reside in the Greater Las Vegas area only. Those who need relocation will not be considered.

Position Summary/Objective:

The Technical Lead is responsible for intermediate level set up and operation of small to large-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction.  This position reports to the Vice President of Customer Experience and Events.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

·         Equipment Operation and Management

·         Responsible for accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of company audiovisual equipment. 

·         Responsible for all inbound and outbound shipments and inventory management in Las Vegas Warehouse

·         Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve problems quickly as they arise.

·         Complies with all Company security and safety measures.

·         Ensures equipment is secure from theft and/or damage when in use. 

·         Hire job site local technical labor to assist in projects as needed.

·         Manage equipment testing, shipping and storage in Las Vegas warehouse.

 

Remote Work/Travel:  This position will work remotely from a home address and subject to AVB’s Remote Work policies and procedures which are then in effect.  In addition, from time to time, this position will be required to engage in travel, including travel to attend AVB’s Annual All-Employee Meeting as well as other travel obligations which may be required of the position such as meetings with members, attendance at conventions and shows and other events where you will represent AVB.  (Any requests for accommodations to required travel (including medical) should be addressed with Human Resources. 

 

Required Skills and Abilities:

·         Customer Service

·         Provides excellent service and strives to exceed the expectations and needs of internal and external customers.  

·         Creating AV schedule (setup/oversee/breakdown) for hired temps based on venue contracts

·         Be a leader, mentor and coach for other Technicians and team members.

·         Maintains a positive relationship with all internal teams with effective communication.  

·         Meets with internal stakeholders on site to ensure that their needs are met and the equipment setup is working properly.  

·         Monitors events and checks in on customers throughout the day.  

·         Understands and fosters the stakeholder’s relationship. 

·         Technical Ability

·         Understands the technical aspects of the job and demonstrates advanced operational ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve with equipment and software issues. 

·         Anticipates equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner. 

·         Systems Knowledge

·         Understands company processes, follows procedures and completes systems entry and paperwork accurately.  

·         Uses the equipment sheets to determine the equipment scheduled for setup and strike.  

·         Interacts with other staff and outside vendors for equipment.  

·         Instills trust.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma required. Associate’s degree is preferred. 
  • 2-3+ years of customer service or hospitality experience is preferred.
  • 5+ years of audio-visual experience is required.

 

Physical Requirements:

·         Prolonged period of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

·         Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
